    Vilma Jūratė Balčiūnienė, MD, PhD, is a medical retina specialist in the ophthalmology department at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) Hospital Kauno Klinikos, where she is head of the retina unit. She is also an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at LSMU.
    She has been president of the Lithuanian Ophthalmological Society since 2018 and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the European Society of Retina Specialists. More info

  • Prof. Pearse Keane
    Pearse Keane is Professor of Artificial Medical Intelligence at UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, and a consultant ophthalmologist at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. Since 2020, he has been funded by UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) as a Future Leaders Fellow, and in 2023 he became a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Senior Investigator. He is originally from Ireland and received his medical degree from University College Dublin (UCD), graduating in 2002 More info
  • Ali Erginay
    Dr. Ali Erginay, MD, is a senior consultant ophthalmologist at Lariboisière Hospital. He specialises in vitreo-retinal disorders. His research is particularly focused on DR, and he is involved in various national and international clinical trials related to retinal vascular diseases. He is a member of the French Ophthalmological Society (SFO), the European Study Group on Diabetic Eye Complications (EASDEC), EURETINA, the European Ophthalmological Society (SOE), the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO).

  • Dr. Mahmut Kaşkaloğlu
    Mahmut Kashkaloglu, Professor, is an expert in ocular sonography and biometrics. He conducted pioneering research and published the first articles on ocular biometrics in Turkey. Professor Kashkaloglu was instrumental in the development of eye surgery techniques in Izmir, performing the first intraocular lens implantation and vitrectomy operations in the 1980s. He also introduced modern cataract treatments and established the first laser eye surgery centre in Izmir in 1992. In 2000, he founded the Ophthalmology Centre, which has become a leading institution in the field of health tourism. He is the president of the Black Sea Ophthalmological Society and a member of international ophthalmological organisations, including ESCRS, ASCRS and others.
  • Professor Lesya Shuba
    Professor, PhD, Lesya Shuba was born in Kiev, Ukraine. Before coming to Halifax, Canada in 1992, she attended Medical Institute in Kiev, Ukraine. In 1996 she earned a PhD degree from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada in cardiac electrophysiology. She went on to complete her MD degree and Ophthalmology residency at Dalhousie University, and a Glaucoma Fellowship with Drs. Alward and Kwon at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, USA. She is currently a Professor, Interim Head and a Glaucoma Fellowship Director at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada

    Mansi Gupta, PhD, is passionate about merging research and technology to drive innovation in healthcare. She works as a clinical subject matter expert on AI-driven R&D projects, focusing on developing solutions that support clinicians and streamline hospital workflows. As part of her job, Mansi Gupta interacts with the ophthalmologists and try to understand the challenges they face in their practices and what would make their life easier. Additionally, she oversees regulatory strategies and submissions for Software as Medical Devices across the EU, US, and other global markets, ensuring compliance in advancing medical technology
